Rider Terms

Applies when you book a ride. Also shown in the rider app. Open the in-app version.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Read this part first

These Terms are a binding contract between you and HERide, Inc. Section 24 contains an agreement to resolve disputes by individual arbitration and a waiver of class actions, which affects how you can bring legal claims against us. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days, as described in that section. By creating an account, booking a ride, or otherwise using the HERide app, you agree to these Terms.

HERide, Inc. (“HERide,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Georgia corporation headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. HERide operates a technology platform that connects riders with independent driver-partners who provide transportation services.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the HERide rider app, the HERide websites, and any related services, features, and content we make available (together, the “Platform”). Our privacy policy at getheride.com/legal/rider-privacy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Separate terms apply to driver-partners, corporate and institutional account holders, and dispatchers. If you use HERide in more than one role, each set of terms applies to that role.

2. HERide is a technology platform, not a transportation carrier

HERide does not provide transportation services and is not a common carrier, taxi service, or public transportation provider. Drivers on the Platform are independent contractors, not employees, agents, partners, or joint venturers of HERide. HERide does not direct or control a driver’s route, conduct, vehicle, or manner of driving beyond the standards described in these Terms and our community policies.

The transportation service is provided to you by the driver, not by HERide. HERide’s role is limited to providing the technology that lets you request a ride, matches you with an available driver, calculates the fare, and processes payment.

3. A service built for women

HERide is a rideshare service created for women, and our driver community is made up of women. This mission shapes how we recruit and review driver applications, how we design our safety features, and how we match riders and drivers.

HERide does not unlawfully discriminate, and drivers may not refuse service on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Nothing in this section creates a guarantee about the identity or characteristics of any particular driver assigned to a particular trip.

4. Eligibility and your account

Age and capacity
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to hold a HERide rider account. Minors may ride only under a Teen Account established and supervised by a parent or legal guardian, or when accompanied by an adult account holder who is responsible for them for the duration of the trip.
Registration and verification
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information, including your legal name, a valid mobile phone number, an email address, and your city, and you must verify your mobile number by one-time passcode. We may also require you to verify a change of phone number or email by a code sent to your address of record.
One account, kept secure
You may hold only one rider account. You are responsible for everything that happens under it and for keeping your device and credentials secure. Tell us immediately at support@getheride.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Accounts we may refuse or close
We may decline to open, may suspend, or may close an account we reasonably believe is fraudulent, duplicative, used in violation of these Terms, associated with abuse of promotions or referrals, or associated with conduct that threatens the safety of the community.

5. HERVerify identity check

HERide may ask you to complete HERVerify, an in-app identity check in which you take a live selfie using your device camera. The purpose is to confirm at pickup that the person entering the vehicle is the person who booked the ride, which is a core safety protection for both riders and drivers.

  • The photo is captured live with your front camera. You cannot upload one from your gallery, and a fresh photo is taken for each booking.
  • Your HERVerify photo is shown to the driver assigned to your trip, on her trip screen, for the length of that trip only.
  • It is stored encrypted in a dedicated store that holds nothing else, and is deleted automatically within 24 hours. We keep only a record that a photo was taken and when.
  • We never sell HERVerify photos, and we do not use them for advertising.
  • Where HERVerify is required to book or to complete a trip, declining the check will prevent you from using that feature.
HERVerify is not face recognition

We do not build a face template, we do not run face matching, and we do not compare your photo against any database. It is a photograph shown to one driver so she can find the right person, and then deleted. The rider privacy policy at getheride.com/legal/rider-privacy has the full detail.

6. Booking a ride

Ride Now and Ride Later
You may request a ride for immediate pickup or schedule one in advance, where scheduling is available in your city and for the vehicle type you select. Scheduling reserves the request; it does not guarantee a driver will be available, and some vehicle types are available only for advance booking.
Vehicle types and service tiers
Available tiers vary by city and may include standard HERide service and premium tiers such as HERide LuxHERy and HERide Black. Premium tiers carry vehicle standards — model year, make and model, seating capacity, and for HERide Black a black exterior — and are fulfilled only by drivers who have opted in and been found eligible. Premium tiers are priced above standard service, as shown before you confirm.
Airports and special pickup zones
At airports and certain other venues, pickups may occur only in designated rideshare zones. The app will present the permitted pickup points and may provide walking directions and a live estimated arrival. You must meet your driver at the designated pickup point — drivers are not permitted to pick up outside authorized zones and may be penalized by the venue or law enforcement for doing so. Airport and venue access fees may be added to your fare.
Accessibility and specialized transportation
You may indicate accessibility needs when booking. Trips requiring wheelchair-accessible, bariatric, or stretcher-equipped vehicles are fulfilled through HERide’s contracted accessible-transportation partner network rather than the general fleet, and availability, lead time, and pricing may differ. Service animals are always permitted, and drivers may not refuse a rider traveling with a service animal.
Contracted and program trips
Some trips are booked under a contract or program — senior transportation, medical transportation, or a corporate or institutional account. Those trips may carry additional rules on eligibility, geography, scheduling windows, trip purpose, and who pays. Where a program rule conflicts with these Terms, the program rule controls for that trip.

HERide does not guarantee that a driver will be available at any given time or place, that a request will be accepted, or that a scheduled ride will be fulfilled. Availability depends on independent drivers choosing to accept trips.

7. Corporate, institutional, and guest bookings

If your rides are arranged or paid for by an employer, school, agency, or other organization (a “Sponsor”), additional rules apply.

  • Your Sponsor may set limits on when, where, how often, and at what cost you may ride, and may add or remove you from the account at any time.
  • Your Sponsor may receive trip details for rides it pays for, including date, time, pickup and drop-off locations, driver, and fare.
  • A Sponsor may book a ride for a guest who does not hold a HERide account. The Sponsor is responsible for having the guest’s permission to share their name and phone number with us and for the guest’s conduct during the trip. The guest is bound by the rider conduct and safety provisions of these Terms.
  • If a Sponsor fails to pay for a trip, HERide may seek payment from the rider or the Sponsor, as permitted by the applicable account agreement.

8. Teen Accounts and guardian supervision

Where HERide offers Teen Accounts, a parent or legal guardian may establish a supervised account for a minor. Teen Accounts are offered only in participating markets and may be changed or withdrawn.

  • The guardian must be an adult HERide account holder, must consent to the teen’s use of the service, and is financially and legally responsible for all trips taken on the Teen Account and for the teen’s compliance with these Terms.
  • Where the feature is enabled, the guardian receives a private link to view the trip while it is in progress, which may include a live video and audio stream from inside the vehicle, published from the driver’s device.
  • The stream is live only. It is not recorded, stored, or available after the trip ends. Only the guardian holding the link may view it, and the link expires.
  • The driver consents to the stream before it begins. The teen and anyone traveling with them should understand the trip is being viewed live by the guardian. Do not use a Teen Account if you do not want the trip observed.
  • The guardian may not record, screenshot, retransmit, publish, or share the stream or the viewing link with anyone else. Doing so is a material breach of these Terms and may violate law.

9. Fares, fees, and estimates

Before you confirm a ride, the app displays an estimated fare or an upfront price for the vehicle type you selected. The final amount charged may include the following.

ComponentWhat it is
Base fare, distance and timeSet per city and vehicle type
Minimum fareThe lowest amount charged for a completed trip
Zone, airport, and venue feesCharges required by an airport or venue operator
Tolls and surchargesPassed through as incurred
Wait timeCharged after the free waiting period at pickup
Demand pricingHigher rates during periods of high demand, disclosed before you confirm
Cancellation and no-show feesAs described in section 12
Cleaning or damage feesAs described in section 15
Taxes and regulatory chargesAs required by law
TipOptional; 100% goes to your driver

Estimates are estimates. Actual fares may differ if the route changes, if you add or change a stop or destination, if traffic or wait time is materially different, or if the trip takes a different path than predicted.

If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact support@getheride.com within 30 days of the trip. We review fare disputes and will adjust a charge where our review shows an error.

10. Payment

HERide does not accept cash

As of May 11, 2026, cash is no longer an accepted payment method for new bookings. You must keep a valid payment card on file, or ride under a corporate account or a valid voucher, in order to book.

Pre-authorization hold
When you book a ride paid by card, we place a pre-authorization hold on your card. The hold is not a charge; it reserves funds so the driver can be paid at the end of the trip. The hold is the greater of 125% of the estimated fare or the estimated fare plus $5.00, and it is released or captured when the trip completes or is cancelled. If a valid hold cannot be secured — a declined or expired card, insufficient funds, or a card that needs extra authentication — your trip may not be able to start.
Authorization to charge
You authorize HERide and its payment processor to charge your payment method for all amounts you incur, including fares, fees, tips, tolls, cancellation and no-show fees, cleaning and damage fees, and taxes. Card processing is handled by our payment processor; HERide does not store full card numbers.
Failed payments
If a charge fails, we may retry it, may apply the balance to your next trip, and may suspend your ability to book until the balance is paid. You remain responsible for amounts owed.
Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your card issuer without first contacting us, we may suspend your account while the dispute is resolved. Filing a chargeback for a trip you actually took is a breach of these Terms.

11. Promotions, promo codes, vouchers, and referrals

  • Promo codes are personal to you, have no cash value, may not be sold, transferred, or published, and may be limited by city, vehicle type, trip count, date, or minimum fare. We may cancel a code or reverse a discount obtained through fraud, duplicate accounts, or abuse.
  • Vouchers issued by a Sponsor cover only the amounts, trip types, dates, and geography the Sponsor sets. Anything above the voucher value is charged to your payment method.
  • Referral rewards require the referred person to be a genuinely new user who completes the qualifying activity. Self-referrals, duplicate devices or accounts, and incentivized or automated signups are not eligible, and we may reverse rewards and close accounts involved in referral abuse.
  • Promotions may be modified or withdrawn at any time, except where doing so is prohibited by law.

12. Cancellations and no-shows

  • You may cancel a ride at any time from the app. A cancellation fee may apply if you cancel after a driver has accepted your trip and outside the free cancellation window for that trip type. Windows and amounts differ between on-demand and scheduled rides and are shown in the app.
  • If your driver arrives, waits the required period, and you do not appear or do not respond, the trip may be ended as a no-show and a no-show fee may be charged to compensate the driver for her time and travel.
  • You will not be charged a cancellation fee when the cancellation is attributable to the driver or to HERide — if the driver cancels, does not arrive, is unreachable, or if we cancel due to a technical failure.
  • A pre-authorization hold that exceeds any fee owed is released back to your card. Release timing is controlled by your bank and may take several business days.
  • Repeated late cancellations and no-shows affect your Reliability Score and may lead to restrictions on your account.

13. Ratings and your Reliability Score

After each trip you may rate your driver, and your driver may rate you. Ratings are used to maintain quality and safety on both sides of the Platform.

HERide also maintains a Reliability Score for riders, calculated from signals such as identity verification status, safety reports, respectfulness, pickup accuracy, responsiveness to your driver, booking reliability including cancellations and no-shows, and overall account standing. Not all factors are active for every rider: the score is calculated only from factors for which we have information, and new riders are shown as “building” until enough trip history exists.

You can view your Reliability Score and what drives it in the app. Drivers may see a summary of your standing when they receive your trip request. A persistently low score may result in longer wait times, reduced access to some features, or removal from the Platform.

14. Safety features

The app includes safety tools such as trip sharing, emergency contacts, an in-app SOS button, and, where enabled, escalation to a professional emergency dispatch service that can request police, fire, or medical response to your location.

HERide is not an emergency service

In an emergency, call 911 directly. Our safety features depend on your device, your network connection, location accuracy, and third-party services, any of which can fail or be delayed. Do not rely on them as your only means of getting help.

Report any safety incident, unsafe driving, harassment, or suspected criminal conduct to us as soon as possible at support@getheride.com or through in-app support, and to law enforcement where appropriate. We investigate reports and may suspend accounts during an investigation.

Drivers may use a dash camera or other recording device where permitted by law. Aside from the Teen Account live stream described in section 8, HERide does not operate cameras in vehicles and does not receive or store in-vehicle recordings made by drivers.

15. Rider conduct

When using HERide you agree that you will not:

  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or physically harm a driver or anyone else;
  • Damage, soil, or vandalize a vehicle, or leave it requiring cleaning beyond normal use;
  • Smoke, vape, or use illegal drugs in a vehicle;
  • Carry an open container of alcohol, a weapon prohibited by law, or hazardous, illegal, or flammable materials;
  • Exceed the vehicle’s seatbelt capacity, or travel with a child without a legally required child restraint;
  • Ask a driver to break traffic laws, exceed hours-of-service limits, or make unauthorized stops;
  • Contact a driver after a trip for any purpose other than recovering lost property through HERide;
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or to transport an unaccompanied minor outside a Teen Account;
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the Platform, or use bots, emulators, or falsified location data.

You are responsible for cleaning and repair costs caused by you or your party. Where a driver reports and documents such damage, we may charge a cleaning or damage fee to your payment method. Serious or repeated violations result in permanent removal from the Platform.

16. Lost property

Report lost items through the app as soon as possible. We will attempt to connect you with your driver, who is under no obligation to return an item or to make a special trip. A return fee may apply to compensate the driver’s time. HERide is not responsible for items left in a vehicle.

17. Location, notifications, and communications

The rider app does not track you in the background

The app uses your device location only while you are using it, to set your pickup point, match you with nearby drivers, show your driver’s approach, and calculate fares. It does not collect your location when the app is closed. You may change location permission at any time in your device settings, but core booking features will not work without it.

By creating an account you agree to receive transactional messages about your account and your trips by push notification, SMS, and email, including one-time codes, driver arrival alerts, receipts, and safety notices. Message and data rates may apply.

Marketing messages are separate. You may opt out of marketing SMS by replying STOP to any marketing message, and out of marketing email using the unsubscribe link, without losing the transactional messages needed to operate your account.

Calls and messages between you and your driver may be routed through a masked number so neither party sees the other’s real phone number, and may be logged for safety and support purposes.

18. Advertising and third-party content

The app may display promotional banners, offers, event listings, transit information, and other content, including content from third parties and paid advertisers. Inclusion is not an endorsement. Your dealings with any advertiser or third-party provider are solely between you and them, and their own terms and privacy practices apply.

19. Third-party services

The Platform depends on third-party services, including payment processing, mapping and navigation, messaging and telephony, identity and fraud tools, emergency dispatch, and cloud hosting. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, outages, accuracy, or content of third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their terms. The full list of providers is in the privacy policy at getheride.com/privacy.

20. Your license to use the Platform

Subject to these Terms, HERide grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own non-commercial use of the service. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. The HERide name, logo, and all Platform software, content, and design are owned by HERide or its licensors and may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used without permission.

If you give us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.

21. Suspension and termination

You may stop using HERide and may request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe your conduct threatens the safety of the community or the integrity of the Platform, if required by law, or if your account is inactive for an extended period.

Amounts you owe survive termination. Some information is retained after account closure as required by law, for safety and fraud prevention, and to resolve disputes, as described in our privacy policy.

22. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HERIDE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ESTIMATES, ARRIVAL TIMES, OR ROUTES WILL BE ACCURATE.

HERIDE DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY, SUITABILITY, SAFETY, OR ABILITY OF ANY DRIVER, AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE CONDITION OF ANY VEHICLE. YOU USE THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES OF INDEPENDENT DRIVERS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

23. Limitation of liability and indemnity

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HERIDE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR ANY TRANSPORTATION SERVICE, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HERIDE’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO HERIDE IN THE SIX MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold HERide harmless from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, or your conduct during a trip.

24. Dispute resolution and arbitration

Read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights

It requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court, and waives class actions. You may opt out within 30 days without affecting your use of HERide.

Informal resolution first
Before starting a formal proceeding, contact us at support@getheride.com with a written description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and give us 30 days to resolve it informally.
Binding individual arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and HERide agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Those rules cap what you pay to file and require HERide to bear the rest of the arbitration costs. Arbitration will take place in Fulton County, Georgia, or another mutually agreed location, or by videoconference or on the documents where the rules allow.
Class action waiver
You and HERide agree that claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding.
Your right to opt out
You may opt out by emailing support@getheride.com with your name, the email and phone number on your account, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration, within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms and will not disadvantage your use of HERide.
Exceptions
Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or to stop unauthorized access to the Platform. This section does not waive any right that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and HERide consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia.

25. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as our service changes. When we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date and give notice in the app, by email, or by requiring you to accept the revised Terms before your next booking. Changes are not retroactive. Your continued use of HERide after the effective date of a change means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Platform and close your account.

26. General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms, the privacy policy, and any program or account terms that apply to you form the entire agreement between you and HERide regarding the Platform.
  • Severability: if a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure: neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Survival: sections 2, 10, 15, 20, 22, 23, 24, and 26 survive termination.

Driver Terms

Applies when you drive. Also shown in the driver app. Open the in-app version.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Read this part first

These Terms are a binding contract between you and HERide, Inc. They confirm that you are an independent contractor, not an employee, and they explain how you are paid, what standards you must meet, and how disputes are resolved. Section 27 contains an agreement to resolve disputes by individual arbitration and a waiver of class and collective actions. You may opt out within 30 days, and opting out will not be held against you.

HERide, Inc. (“HERide,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Georgia corporation headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. HERide operates a technology platform that connects riders with independent driver-partners.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the HERide driver app, the HERide driver portal, and related services (together, the “Platform”) as an independent driver-partner. Our privacy policy at getheride.com/legal/driver-privacy is incorporated by reference. Any separate Independent Contractor Agreement you sign during onboarding also applies; if it conflicts with these Terms on a specific point, that agreement controls on that point.

2. Independent contractor relationship

You are an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, joint venturer, or partner of HERide, and nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship.

  • You decide whether, when, where, and how often to use the Platform. You are under no obligation to go online, to accept any trip request, or to be available at any particular time.
  • You provide your own vehicle, smartphone, data plan, fuel, insurance, maintenance, and all other equipment and expenses. HERide does not reimburse them unless expressly agreed in writing.
  • You control the manner and means of performing transportation services, including your route, subject to law, rider requests, and the safety standards in these Terms.
  • You may provide services for other transportation platforms or businesses, including HERide’s competitors, at any time.
  • You are not eligible for employee benefits, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, or overtime from HERide, and HERide does not withhold income or payroll taxes on your behalf.
  • You are responsible for reporting and paying all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on your earnings, including self-employment tax.

3. Eligibility and driver community

HERide is a rideshare service created for women, and our driver community is made up of women. Driver applications are individually reviewed against this mission and against the safety and quality standards below. HERide reserves the right to decline any application.

To drive on HERide you must, at minimum and at all times:

  • Meet the minimum age required by applicable law and by our insurance requirements;
  • Hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s license, and have the driving experience required by applicable law;
  • Hold and maintain personal automobile insurance meeting or exceeding the minimums required by Georgia law and by HERide, naming you as a covered driver of the vehicle you use;
  • Have the legal right to work as an independent contractor in the United States;
  • Own or have documented permission to use the vehicle you drive, with valid registration and, where required, a rideshare or transportation network company permit;
  • Pass and continue to pass HERide’s background screening;
  • Meet HERide’s vehicle standards and pass vehicle inspection.

4. Onboarding and required documents

Before you can be approved you must complete HERide’s onboarding:

  • Account creation and phone verification by one-time passcode;
  • Document upload — driver’s license, vehicle registration, insurance declarations page, profile photo, and vehicle photos;
  • Electronic signature of your onboarding document set, which includes your Independent Contractor Agreement, your background-check consent and disclosure, an IRS Form W-9, and a motor vehicle record authorization. These are delivered through our e-signature provider, and your electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten one;
  • Background screening (section 5);
  • Vehicle inspection (section 6);
  • Payout account setup (section 14).

You must provide accurate, complete, and current information, and must promptly update HERide when any document expires, is suspended, revoked, or materially changes. Submitting false or altered documents is grounds for immediate and permanent deactivation and may be reported to authorities.

5. Background checks and ongoing screening

Your consent
You authorize HERide and its consumer reporting agencies to obtain consumer reports and investigative consumer reports about you — including criminal history, identity verification, and driving records — for the purpose of evaluating you for, and continuing, your engagement as a driver-partner. You will receive the disclosure and authorization required by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable state law separately, and your signature on those documents governs the screening.
Recurring re-screening
Screening is not a one-time event. You consent to periodic re-screening for as long as your account remains active — currently on approximately a 90-day cycle, subject to change to meet legal requirements or platform policy. You must remain continuously eligible, not merely eligible on the day you applied.
Results and adverse action
If a report contains information that may affect your eligibility, HERide will follow the FCRA’s pre-adverse action and adverse action process: you will receive a copy of the report and a summary of your rights, and a reasonable opportunity to dispute or explain the information before a final decision is made. Results flagged for review do not automatically deactivate your account.
Your duty to self-report
You must notify HERide within 24 hours if you are arrested for or charged with a felony, a violent or sexual offense, a drug offense, or any offense involving driving under the influence, or if your driver’s license or insurance is suspended, revoked, or cancelled. Continuing to drive after such an event is a material breach of these Terms.

6. Vehicle standards and inspection

  • Your vehicle must be safe, clean, mechanically sound, free of cosmetic damage that affects safety or rider experience, and compliant with all applicable safety and emissions requirements.
  • Your vehicle must pass a HERide inspection before you may accept trips. Inspection may be completed through the HERide driver portal by submitting required photographs — exterior, interior, license plate, and VIN — and attesting to the accuracy of the plate and VIN. A HERide inspector reviews the submission against your application documents and approves or rejects it.
  • Submitting photographs of a vehicle other than the one you drive, or misrepresenting a plate or VIN, is fraud and results in permanent deactivation.
  • You must re-inspect on the schedule HERide sets, and must submit a new inspection whenever you change vehicles. Adding or changing a vehicle requires HERide approval before you drive it.
  • HERide may require a re-inspection at any time in response to a rider report or a safety concern.

Premium tiers — including HERide LuxHERy and HERide Black — carry stricter vehicle standards, such as a maximum vehicle age, an approved list of makes and models, minimum seating capacity, and for HERide Black a black exterior. Participation is opt-in. If your vehicle does not meet the published standard for a tier, your opt-in will be declined and you will continue to receive standard trip requests. Eligibility is re-evaluated as your vehicle ages or changes.

7. Document expiration and automatic deactivation

Your driver’s license, insurance, registration, and any required permit must be valid at all times. If a required document expires, the Platform may automatically place your account on hold and prevent you from going online until you upload a current document. This is a safety and compliance control, not a disciplinary action, and access is restored when valid documents are received and verified.

8. Going online, trip offers, and dispatch

Going online
You are online and eligible to receive trip requests only when you set yourself online in the app, are within a serviced area, meet all eligibility requirements, and have completed payout onboarding. HERide may prevent you from going online if a required check, document, or payout setup is incomplete.
Trip offers
Trip requests are offers you may accept or decline. Some offers may be marked as higher-priority — late-night trips, high-value trips, or trips matching a program you participate in — and may be presented with distinct alerts. Declining offers does not by itself result in penalty, but chronic non-response while online may affect the offers you receive.
Scheduled rides and claims
Where scheduled rides are offered, you may claim an upcoming trip in advance. A claim is a commitment: it removes the trip from other drivers’ queues and the rider is told a driver is assigned. If you cannot fulfill a claimed trip, release it as early as possible through the app. Repeatedly claiming and abandoning scheduled trips, or failing to appear for one, may result in loss of access to scheduled rides or deactivation.
Contracted and program trips
Some trips are dispatched under a contract or program — senior transportation, medical transportation, corporate accounts, or accessible transportation fulfilled by a partner network. These may carry additional requirements on training, documentation, trip verification, scheduling, and pay, and may be routed only to drivers assigned to that program. Program rules control for those trips.

9. Your obligations while driving

  • Drive safely and lawfully. Obey all traffic, licensing, and transportation network company laws. Do not use a handheld device while driving.
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs your driving. HERide has zero tolerance, and a credible report of impaired driving results in immediate suspension pending investigation.
  • Verify your rider at pickup. Where the app presents rider verification tools — a rider’s HERVerify photo or a pickup code — use them to confirm you are transporting the correct person.
  • Follow the app’s navigation and designated pickup zones, particularly at airports and venues. Do not pick up outside an authorized rideshare zone. You are responsible for citations, fines, and penalties you incur.
  • Transport only the rider who booked and their authorized companions, within the vehicle’s seatbelt capacity. Do not allow anyone else to drive your vehicle or ride along while you are on a HERide trip.
  • Accept service animals. Refusing a rider with a service animal is unlawful and results in deactivation.
  • Do not discriminate against a rider on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Do not harass, threaten, solicit, or contact a rider outside the app for any purpose other than returning lost property through HERide.
  • Start and end each trip in the app at the correct times and locations. Do not start a trip before the rider is in the vehicle or extend a trip beyond the drop-off.
  • Do not request or accept cash. HERide is cashless; all fares are collected through the app.

10. HERVerify

HERVerify is a live selfie taken with the front camera. It is used two ways:

Your photo
You may be asked to take one when you go online, to confirm that the person driving is the approved account holder. Your photo is never shown to riders.
The rider’s photo
Where the rider has completed HERVerify, her photo appears on your trip screen so you can identify her at pickup. It is visible for the length of that trip only.
HERVerify is not face recognition

No face template is created, no matching is run, and no photo is compared against any database. Photos are stored encrypted and deleted automatically within 24 hours.

You may not screenshot, photograph, copy, save, publish, or share a rider’s HERVerify photo. Doing so is a serious breach of section 19 and results in permanent deactivation.

11. Teen trips and in-vehicle streaming

Where HERide offers Teen Accounts, trips for teen riders may include a live video and audio stream from inside your vehicle to the teen’s parent or guardian, published from your device’s front-facing camera and microphone for the duration of the trip.

  • You will be asked to consent in the app before any stream begins, and you may decline. Declining does not penalize your account, but the trip will not proceed with streaming enabled.
  • The stream is live only. It is not recorded or stored by HERide, and it ends when the trip ends.
  • If you accept a teen trip with streaming, you must position your device so the camera has the intended view of the cabin, and you must not disable, obscure, or interrupt the stream during the trip.
  • You are on notice that your voice and image are transmitted live to the guardian for the duration of the trip, and you consent to that transmission for that purpose.

12. Safety features and incident reporting

The driver app includes safety tools, including an in-app SOS button and, where enabled, escalation to a professional emergency dispatch service that can request emergency response to your location.

HERide is not an emergency service

In an emergency, call 911. Safety features depend on your device, network, and third-party services and may fail or be delayed.

Report any accident, injury, threat, assault, or other safety incident to HERide immediately at support@getheride.com or through in-app support, and to law enforcement where appropriate. You must cooperate with HERide’s investigation. HERide may suspend your account during an investigation.

You may use a dash camera where permitted by law. You are solely responsible for complying with Georgia and other applicable recording and consent laws, for disclosing recording to riders, and for the security of any footage. Do not publish, post, sell, or share footage of a rider, and do not use footage for any purpose other than your own safety and incident documentation.

13. Earnings

How you are paid
For each completed trip you earn the trip fare less HERide’s service fee, plus any applicable tolls, surcharges, incentives, and 100% of rider tips. Your service fee percentage is determined by the driver plan assigned to your account; drivers on certain contracted programs are paid on a different commission split, shown in your app and in your plan. Fares are calculated from the city and vehicle-type rate card in effect at the time of booking.
Cancellation and no-show compensation
Where a rider cancels after you have accepted and traveled toward pickup, or where a rider does not appear and the trip is ended as a no-show, you may be credited a cancellation or no-show fee in accordance with the fee windows and amounts in effect for that trip type and city. Fees attributable to driver fault — where the cancellation reason indicates the driver did not arrive or could not be reached — are not credited to you.
Adjustments and reversals
HERide may adjust, withhold, or reverse earnings where a trip was fraudulent, where a fare was miscalculated, where a rider payment is charged back or reversed, where a fare adjustment is made after review of a rider dispute, or where earnings resulted from a violation of these Terms. We will identify any adjustment in your earnings history.
No guarantee of earnings
HERide makes no representation or guarantee regarding the number of trips you will receive or the amount you will earn. Any earnings figures shown in marketing, recruiting, or projections are illustrative and are not a promise.

14. Payouts, payment account, and taxes

  • Payout account required. You must complete onboarding with HERide’s payments partner, including identity verification and any required tax and bank information. Until your payout account is fully verified and enabled, you may be prevented from going online and cannot receive payouts. This requirement comes from financial regulation, not HERide preference.
  • Payout schedule. Earnings accrue to your in-app balance and are paid out on HERide’s regular payout cycle to the bank account or debit card you connect. Where instant or on-demand withdrawal is offered, a fee may apply and is disclosed before you confirm.
  • Accuracy. You are responsible for the accuracy of your payout details. HERide is not responsible for funds misdirected because you provided incorrect information.
  • Taxes. HERide does not withhold taxes. Where required, you will receive an IRS Form 1099. You are responsible for your own tax obligations and filings.
  • Offsets. HERide may offset amounts you owe — reversed fares, incentive clawbacks for fraud, or fees you agreed to — against your balance.

15. Location tracking while you drive

The driver app collects your location in the background while you are online

This includes when the app is not on screen. It is required to receive trip offers, show riders your approach, navigate, calculate fares and distances, support dispatch, and provide safety features.

Location collection while you are online is a condition of using the Platform. You may turn off location permission at any time in your device settings, but you will not be able to go online or complete trips. Your location is not tracked for HERide’s purposes when you are offline. See the driver privacy policy for how this data is used, shared, and retained.

16. Notifications and communications

You agree to receive operational messages by push notification, SMS, email, and in-app alert — trip offers, dispatch alerts, safety notices, document and compliance reminders, payout notices, and account decisions. These are necessary to operate your account and cannot be fully disabled while your account is active. Message and data rates may apply. Marketing messages are separate and you may opt out of them at any time.

Calls and messages between you and a rider may be routed through a masked number and may be logged for safety and support purposes.

17. Ratings, reputation, and quality standards

Riders rate you after each trip, and you rate riders. HERide maintains a driver reputation view showing your rating, completed trips, and related metrics, and maintains a rider Reliability Score you may see when receiving a request.

You must maintain the minimum star rating, acceptance and completion standards, and community standards HERide publishes for your market. Falling below a minimum standard may result in a warning, temporary suspension, required coaching, or deactivation. Serious violations — safety, discrimination, fraud, impairment, harassment, or a failed background re-screen — may result in immediate deactivation without a prior warning.

18. Referral programs

Where HERide offers driver referral rewards, the referred driver must be genuinely new, must complete the qualifying activity described in the offer, and must remain in good standing. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, fabricated identities, and other abuse void the reward, and HERide may reverse paid rewards and deactivate the accounts involved.

19. Rider information and confidentiality

  • Rider names, photos, phone numbers, addresses, trip details, and HERVerify photos are confidential. Use them only to complete the trip.
  • Do not save, copy, publish, post to social media, sell, or otherwise disclose rider information or images.
  • Do not contact a rider after a trip except through HERide to return lost property.
  • Do not use HERide rider information to market your own or a third party’s products or services.

These obligations survive deactivation and termination of your account.

20. Insurance

Your insurance
You must maintain, at your own expense and for the entire time you use the Platform, automobile liability insurance that meets or exceeds the minimums required by Georgia law and by HERide’s published requirements, covering you as a driver of the vehicle you use. You must provide proof on request and upload a current declarations page whenever your policy renews or changes.
Tell your insurer you drive for a TNC
Personal auto policies commonly exclude losses that occur while a vehicle is used to carry passengers for a fee. You are responsible for telling your insurer that you drive for a transportation network company and for obtaining a rideshare endorsement or other coverage if your policy requires it. Failing to do so may leave you personally uninsured during a trip.

HERide maintains a commercial automobile liability policy through Vouch Insurance Services that meets the transportation network company insurance requirements of Georgia law. This coverage applies to your use of a vehicle in connection with trips arranged through the Platform, in periods as Georgia’s TNC framework defines them.

Period 1Online and available, no trip acceptedContingent liability at the limits Georgia requires for this period

Ask us for the numbers

You are entitled to know exactly what you are covered for. Email support@getheride.com and we will send you the certificate of insurance and a summary of the policy — the carrier, the limits that apply in each period, the deductible, and what is and is not included. We will send it without asking why you want it.

This coverage applies only while you are using the Platform as described above. It is not a substitute for your own automobile insurance, which you must maintain at all times, and it does not cover personal use of your vehicle, use for another transportation platform, or use while your account is deactivated or suspended.

A certificate of insurance and a summary of coverage are available on request from support@getheride.com. In the event of an accident during a trip, report it to HERide immediately under section 12 so the claim can be routed to the correct policy.

21. Lost property

If a rider leaves an item in your vehicle, report it in the app and keep it secure. You may be asked to return it, and a return fee may be credited to you for your time. Keeping, using, or disposing of a rider’s property is theft and results in permanent deactivation.

22. Your license to use the Platform

Subject to these Terms, HERide grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the driver app for the sole purpose of providing transportation services arranged through the Platform. You may not share your account, allow another person to drive under your account, reverse-engineer or modify the app, scrape or extract data, use bots or emulators, or falsify your location or trip data. Account sharing is a serious safety violation and results in permanent deactivation.

All Platform software, content, trademarks, and design are owned by HERide or its licensors. If you give us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them.

23. Suspension, deactivation, and appeal

You may stop using HERide at any time. HERide may suspend or deactivate your account, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms, failure to maintain eligibility, safety concerns, fraud, legal requirement, or extended inactivity.

If your account is deactivated, you may request a review by contacting support@getheride.com. We will explain the reason where we are able to do so consistent with safety, privacy, and legal obligations, and will consider information you provide. Earnings you have already accrued will be paid out in the ordinary course, less any amounts properly owed to HERide.

HERIDE DOES NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, THE ACCURACY OF NAVIGATION, ESTIMATES, OR DISPATCH, OR THE CONDUCT, IDENTITY, OR CREDITWORTHINESS OF ANY RIDER.

25. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HERIDE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST EARNINGS OPPORTUNITY, LOST DATA, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HERIDE’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE TOTAL AMOUNTS PAID TO YOU BY HERIDE IN THE SIX MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR FIVE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($500).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

26. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HERide and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, damage, fine, penalty, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your provision of transportation services, your use of the Platform, your operation of a vehicle, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law.

27. Dispute resolution and arbitration

Read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights

It requires most disputes, including disputes about your classification as an independent contractor, to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court, and waives class and collective actions. You may opt out within 30 days, and opting out will not affect your ability to drive on HERide.

Informal resolution first
Before starting a formal proceeding, contact us at support@getheride.com with a written description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and give us 30 days to resolve it informally.
Binding individual arbitration
If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and HERide agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, your relationship with HERide, or your use of the Platform — including disputes about classification, compensation, deactivation, or discrimination — will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”), under whichever AAA rules apply to the dispute — its Employment/Workplace Arbitration Rules for claims arising out of your working relationship with HERide, and its Commercial Arbitration Rules otherwise — rather than in court. HERide pays the arbitration filing and administrative fees beyond the amount those rules assign to you. Arbitration will take place in Fulton County, Georgia, or another mutually agreed location, or by videoconference.
Class and collective action waiver
Claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over a representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim proceeds in court and the remainder stays in arbitration.
Your right to opt out
You may opt out by emailing support@getheride.com with your name, the email and phone number on your account, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration, within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out will not affect your ability to drive on HERide and will not be held against you in any way.
Exceptions
Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or confidential information. Nothing in this section prevents you from filing a charge or claim with a government agency, or waives any right that cannot be waived by law, including any right to bring a representative action that applicable law makes non-waivable.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and by the Federal Arbitration Act as to this section. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and HERide consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia.

28. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as our service and legal obligations change. When we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date and notify you in the app, by email, or by requiring you to accept the revised Terms before you next go online. Changes are not retroactive. Continuing to use the Platform after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Platform.

29. General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms, the privacy policy, your Independent Contractor Agreement, and any program terms that apply to you form the entire agreement between you and HERide.
  • Severability: if a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure: neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Survival: sections 2, 13, 14, 19, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 29 survive termination.
