HERide
About

Built for the people rideshare forgot.

HERide started in Atlanta in 2019. A Black-woman founded rideshare company. Every driver is a woman. Every choice is made with our riders and drivers in mind.

Our story

Why we started.

Rideshare became one of the biggest things in the world without ever asking: what would this look like if women built it?

A woman calling for a ride. A woman driving that ride. Two people who might have been thinking the same thing every time they used Uber or Lyft — "I hope this is safe."

HERide is the answer. Every driver is a woman. Every ride has real safety tools built in. Every fare pays the driver more. And every rider gets a person on support, not a chatbot.

Timeline

How we got here.

  1. 2019
    HERide is born

Jillian starts HERide in Atlanta with one big idea: a rideshare where every driver is a woman.

  2. 2020
    First rides

The first HERide rides happen in Atlanta. Word spreads fast — women want this.

  3. 2023
    We come to the airport

In September, HERide becomes the third rideshare app ever cleared to pick up at Atlanta's airport. Uber and Lyft are the other two.

  4. 2024
    Hello, Athens

HERide launches in Athens, Georgia — UGA campus and downtown Athens.

  5. Today
    570+ drivers, two cities

More than 570 women drivers across Atlanta and Athens. And we're just getting started.

What we believe

Our four rules.

These aren't posters on a wall. These are the rules we build the app around, every single day.

Safety comes first

Not as a feature. As the whole point of the app.

Local wins

We're an Atlanta company. Our drivers and riders live here. Our money stays here.

Fair to drivers

Drivers keep 80% of every fare. That's higher than Uber or Lyft. And we listen when drivers tell us what's broken.

Real people, real answers

When you email us, a real person answers. When you file a safety report, a real person reads it.
